BIRTV 2024, Kevin Shaw, President of the Colorist Society, chaired a panel hosted by the Chinese Society of Cinematographers (CNSC) to discuss the use of High Dynamic Range (HDR) today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5728\u672c\u6b21\u5706\u684c\u4f1a\u8bae\u4e2d\uff0cKevin \u5206\u4eab\u4e86 HDR \u6b63\u5728\u6539\u53d8\u521b\u4f5c\u5185\u5bb9\u7684\u4e94\u79cd\u65b9\u5f0f\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, Kevin shares is are five themes that arose in the recent panel discussion about how HDR is shaping filmmaking in 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-midnight-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\"><strong>1.\u6253\u7834\u9650\u5236<\/strong> <strong>Removing limitations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HDR\u53ef\u4ee5\u6253\u7834\u6807\u51c6\u52a8\u6001\u8303\u56f4\uff08SDR\uff09\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u4f5c\u7684\u9650\u5236\uff0c\u771f\u6b63\u4e3a\u521b\u9020\u8005\u63d0\u4f9b\u66f4\u5927\u7684\u201c\u8303\u56f4\u201d\u3002HDR\u80fd\u8ba9\u7535\u5f71\u6444\u5f71\u5e08\u66f4\u52a0\u8f7b\u677e\u5730\u5904\u7406\u5929\u7a7a\u4ee5\u53ca\u5176\u4ed6\u81ea\u7136\u62e5\u6709\u9ad8\u5bf9\u6bd4\u5ea6\u7684\u573a\u666f\uff0c\u8fd8\u80fd\u83b7\u53d6\u66f4\u52a0\u5e7f\u9614\u7684\u8272\u5f69\u8303\u56f4\uff0c\u4ece\u800c\u589e\u5f3a\u89c6\u89c9\u6548\u679c\u7684\u6574\u4f53\u6df1\u5ea6\u548c\u771f\u5b9e\u5ea6\u3002HDR\u4e0d\u4ec5\u4ec5\u80fd\u5448\u73b0\u4eae\u5ea6\u66f4\u9ad8\u7684\u56fe\u50cf\uff0c\u5b83\u8fd8\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e3a\u89c2\u4f17\u6253\u9020\u66f4\u5177\u6c89\u6d78\u611f\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\u3002\u901a\u8fc7\u5229\u7528\u5168\u65b0\u7684HDR\u663e\u793a\u6280\u672f\uff0c\u7535\u5f71\u5236\u4f5c\u8005\u53ef\u4ee5\u4ee5\u66f4\u52a0\u611f\u6027\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u5438\u5f15\u89c2\u4f17\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>HDR&#8217;s ability to remove the limitations of Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) filmmaking is giving creators more range \u2013 literally. HDR allows cinematographers an easier way to deal with sky and other naturally high contrast situations, and to access a broader spectrum of colors which enhances the overall depth and realism of their visuals. HDR is about much more than just brighter images \u2013 it\u2019s about creating a more immersive experience for viewers. This opens the door for a broader market, enabling emerging filmmakers and smaller production companies to access the same tools as major studios. Many panelists expressed how hard it is to revert to SDR after experiencing the freedom and vibrancy that HDR provides.
